Adopt Qua

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

During our visit to Canile Arzachena at the end of October 2025, we also got to know three siblings who were housed in the isolation area. The siblings—Qua the girl and the boys Qui and Quo—were found in the Campagna, where they were likely abandoned. Although the three little ones were initially curious when we entered their enclosure, they were also quite shy. It seems they didn't have much positive experience with humans before they were brought to Canile for safety. And although the few staff members at Canile are very friendly to the dogs, there simply isn't enough time to individually and intensively engage with each of them. Therefore, it would be very important to take Qua, Qui, and Quo out of Canile as soon as possible and travel them to Germany. For their development and to overcome their shyness, what they need is a familiar environment where they can be shown with love, patience, and empathy that being with humans is not something to be afraid of, but something very beautiful. Where are the people who want to accompany Qua, Qui, or Quo on their journey to a happy dog life? December 16, 2025: Qua was allowed to travel to her German foster home. January 5, 2026: Today, Qua was photographed by the photographer Katrin Schneeberger. A big thank you to Kati, who met with the foster mom and provided great support with her new photos! Qua has been in her foster home for a short time and has already settled in well. In new situations, she shows some initial shyness and observation, but with a little patience, she warms up quickly. Once she has trust, she approaches her two-legged friends openly, friendly, and interested, and enjoys the closeness to humans. In living with other animals, Qua shows absolutely no complications. She gets along very well with the dogs in the foster home, and the contact with the cats living there also goes smoothly. She is a happy, lively, and inquisitive young puppy girl at the beginning of her education, ready for all the adventures that life has in store for her. Training on leash handling is already being worked on, as well as house training. Qua is eager to learn, attentive, and brings the best prerequisites to develop into a wonderful companion if given time, structure, and loving guidance. For Qua, we wish kind, sensitive people who are enthusiastic about the dog adventure and enjoy further training and growing together with her. People who challenge and promote her both mentally and physically, give her security, and show her the world step by step. Qua will thank you with great enthusiasm, affection, and loyalty. If you are currently looking for a new furry family member and are aware that adoption brings not only great joy but also a lot of work and great responsibility, we look forward to your message. We provide nationwide.

About Qua

What life with Qua looks like

Qua is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Qua, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Qua?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Qua on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Qua if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Qua already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Qua isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Qua and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
