Queeny

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Hometown: Romania. Breed: mixed breed. Gender: female, neutered. Color: light brown. Shoulder height: 40 cm. Weight: 13 kg. Date of birth: around November 2023. Location: 74535 Mainhardt Queeny – Little Heart of Gold still waits for her people. Queeny is a lively, cheerful 2-year-old female dog who loves going for walks, playing with her friends, and cuddling. She hides her little heart under a slightly rough exterior. Anyone who takes the time to win her over will get a truly loyal soul as a companion. Loud, turbulent environments scare her. Unfortunately, cities and children are not for her. She would certainly enjoy a visit to dog training classes, which would also benefit her in everyday life. She also loves other dogs and follows their lead. An already existing dog would certainly be an advantage. Due to her insecurities in dealing with unfamiliar situations, she is not suitable for dog beginners. Queeny enjoys joint adventures in the forest and on the meadows. She also likes to go on vacation with the camper. At home, she is a quiet, pleasant roommate who loves cuddle sessions. Queeny wishes for people who let her come at her own pace, give her security, and pay attention to her. Queeny would like to be visited in 74535 Mainhardt. Contact: Ilona Stutz. Email: Our dogs are vaccinated (rabies and 2x basic immunization), microchipped, and equipped with the EU pet passport at our expense (we cover the lab fees). They have been tested for common Mediterranean diseases: Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, leishmaniasis, rickettsiae, filariasis, hepatozoonosis, anaplasmosis. Important documents:

About Queeny

What life with Queeny looks like

Queeny is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. in Oberwies.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Queeny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Queeny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Queeny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Queeny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Queeny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Queeny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Queeny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
