adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Quincy has found a home in Romania! His story: The little, sweet Quincy, about 4 months old, embodies everything one could imagine in a typical puppy: he is curious, playful, and very open. Together with his siblings, he was found and currently lives in a foster home, where he is housed in a pen in the garden. Quincy is simply lovable. With his charming nature and clumsy paws, he brings a smile to everyone. He is developing well and is always ready to explore his surroundings. With his cheerful disposition, he is always ready for new adventures and discoveries. Like his siblings, we know little about his origins, and can say that the handsome male dog is a surprise package. We all love all the sides of him and hope to find someone who will share in all the surprises of life with him. Quincy gets along well with other dogs. He will likely reach a medium size and is looking for a family that will open its arms to him and show him the world. As he is still a puppy, he has a lot to learn. It is important that his new people have patience and are ready to train him with positive reinforcement. Small mishaps should not be held against him – he is still learning! In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. The upcoming puberty will also present a challenge. During this phase, consistent but loving training is particularly important, as they often forget everything they have learned. But don't worry – this phase will pass! Quincy is ready when you are. He travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. His EU Companion Animal Passport is also in his luggage. After a positive match, do you have a kind home to give Quincy and explore the world with him? Then contact us! Many thanks to Claudia! You gave Quincy his name.

Vielen Dank an Claudia! Du hast Quincy seinen Namen geschenkt.

About Quincy

What life with Quincy looks like

Quincy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Quincy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Quincy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Quincy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Quincy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Quincy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Quincy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Quincy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
