Quindy

German Shepherd · Female · Senior · 9 years

Quindy is a real bundle of affection who absolutely loves human company. She readily seeks out cuddles—sometimes a bit abruptly—but that’s just her way of showing how much she enjoys being around people. Very playful, she adores small balls and happily lets herself be brushed. On walks, she’s pleasant to handle, walking at a moderate pace and thoroughly enjoying outings—even though it’s best to stick to shorter strolls due to a weakness in her front legs, which can cause her to lose her balance, especially when going uphill. She may pull slightly when she spots other dogs or people, though she’s not overly reactive. She’s also shown quite a bit of reactivity toward a sheep. Having been seized from a neglectful environment, she previously lived in conditions of extreme deprivation. Despite this past, she’s remained remarkably close to humans. For a long time, she lived peacefully with another dog; however, Quindy was once attacked by that dog. She’s an endearing dog who truly deserves to find a family willing to offer her the stability and attention she’s never really known.

FR·Show original

About Quindy

What life with Quindy looks like

Quindy is a senior german shepherd dog waiting at SRPA Liege in Srpa Liege.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Quindy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Quindy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SRPA Liege handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Quindy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Quindy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SRPA Liege will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Quindy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Quindy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SRPA Liege early rather than rehoming privately; they know Quindy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
