Racker und Romy

Male

Racker und Romy were dropped off with us because the rooms in the attic of our area heated up too much in the summer, causing the animals to not fare well. Now, Racker und Romy are on the hunt for a new home that is better climate-controlled. The two are rather shy, so they do not really suit children. Regular fur care is very important for Racker und Romy. They wish for an appropriate habitat with plenty of space to feel comfortable. If you are interested in the two, we look forward to an email from you, preferably also with photos of your rabbit accommodation. We do not provide caging. Information and tips about appropriate rabbit care can be found on websites such as www.diebrain.de or www.kaninchenwiese.de. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

DE·Show original

Frequently asked

Adopting Racker und Romy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Racker und Romy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bergheim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Racker und Romy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Racker und Romy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bergheim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Racker und Romy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Racker und Romy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bergheim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Racker und Romy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
