RAGNAR

Cane Corso · Male · Adult · 6 years

RAGNAR was directly abandoned at our shelter with other animals of the same species as his owner could no longer take care of him. At first shy, he quickly becomes affectionate once he feels at ease. Watch out for this 50kg bear who is looking for adopters who can handle him! Indeed, having never experienced much, his education will need to be done using positive and gentle methods. He reacts well on walks but is sociable. He can share his life with a female of the same size, provided there is a compatibility test. As he has everything to discover, a placement outside the city center will be requested. We will also avoid young children. Please make sure to inquire about the breed's needs; the mastiff is not a breed that suits everyone. In order to let him evolve at his own pace, a garden home placement will be requested. Come meet this ball of love who is just waiting to learn!. Note: this animal can be reactive.

FR·Show original

About RAGNAR

What life with RAGNAR looks like

RAGNAR is a extra-large adult cane corso dog waiting at SPA Gennevilliers (Grammont) in Gennevilliers.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires complete training using positive methods, reactive on walks but sociable

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting RAGNAR, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RAGNAR?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Gennevilliers (Grammont) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RAGNAR on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RAGNAR if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Gennevilliers (Grammont) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RAGNAR already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RAGNAR isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Gennevilliers (Grammont) early rather than rehoming privately; they know RAGNAR and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
