Rambo

Male · Adult · 4 years

Meet Rambo! Rambo arrived at Battersea, due to an unfortunate change in circumstances for his owner, meaning that they were no longer able to provide Rambo with the care that he needed. Rambo is a Patterdale cross, a breed often known for its high energy, and will need plenty of outlets in which to channel this excess energy into. He loves his tennis balls, and true to his breed; is buzzing with energy and eager to always be on the go! Sweet Rambo has struggled to settle into kennel life, and is searching for an active home that will match his 'on the go' personality! He has been lovely with people, and really loves to play with his toys. Playing fetch with his tennis balls is his favourite game! Rambo has shown an array of behaviours around other dogs, and although we have seen some nice social skills, he'll need ongoing work around his ability to greet dogs appropriately, and his new owners will need to continue this training in order to best set him up for success with other dogs. Rambo's enthusiasm for life and cheerful personality is contagious, and he has come along in leaps and bounds since his arrival with us- he is a fun boy who has proven to be extremely rewarding to work with, and will certainly make a wonderful companion to the right home. We are ideally looking for a home for him that has had prior experience of high energy breeds. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Rambo, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. stion.

About Rambo

What life with Rambo looks like

Rambo is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rambo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rambo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rambo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rambo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rambo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rambo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rambo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
