Eccles

Female · Senior · 12 years

Eccles is an adorable cat with tonnes of character and love to fill her new home with! Eccles is an older girl but still has lots of playful energy, with one of her favourite activities being chasing after her string toy! Eccles is looking for a calm home, where she can mooch about as she pleases, sunbathing and receiving fuss on demand! Eccles loves curling up on a lap of her favourite people, or sitting next to them, especially to watch some TV. She has a soothing purr and chirpy meow. Eccles has an adventurous side too, and enjoys spending some of her time outside, exploring and hunting. Eccles will require outside access in her new home. If owners are away for a working day, she will need a cat-flap to come and go as she pleases. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Eccles, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. a match for the cat you have contacted us about.

About Eccles

What life with Eccles looks like

Eccles is a medium-sized senior cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eccles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eccles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eccles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eccles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eccles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eccles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eccles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
