Ramsey

Male Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Ramsey is a sensitive but sweet lad who originally came into our care due to his owners ill health. He is looking for patient and understanding owners that can help him settle into his new home whilst continuing his training to help him grow in confidence. Ramsey has positive history of being fully housetrained, can be left alone for a few hours once he's settled in and enjoys travelling in a car. He will need some support with building his confidence around being handled so will appreciate a slower approach and an understanding of his body language to ensure space can be given where needed. Ramsey will make a rewarding companion with the right home that can give him the time and guidance required. Ramsey is a 6yr old Daxi cross Terrier who loves getting out to explore and is eager to find his forever home. He is best suited to an adult only home and is looking to be the only dog to set him up to succeed. Ramsey has shown reactive behaviours towards both people and dogs so will benefit from ongoing socialisation training. He is a lovely lad with heaps of character and once a relationship has been formed he enjoys downtime with his people having a fuss.

About Ramsey

What life with Ramsey looks like

Ramsey is an adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Evesham in Evesham.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ramsey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ramsey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Evesham handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ramsey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ramsey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Evesham will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ramsey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ramsey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Evesham early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ramsey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
