Randall

Mixed Breed · Male

Randall is a really lovely, two-year-old (as of 11/2022) Breton mix, who has already captured the hearts of many of our friends in Seville with his charming personality. The handsome male dog was wandering around for several weeks in a village near the city, and there he found a good friend. This particular human is the driver of our partner in Seville and has already delivered many dogs safely to their new families in Germany. The kind-hearted man now wishes the same happy journey for his charge Randall, and so he made sure that the cheerful male dog is now staying at the animal shelter, where he can relax and, above all, be safe from dog catchers while waiting for nice people to fall in love with him. Bretons are (contrary to some incorrect names and also their appearance) not spaniels, but the smallest representatives of the gundogs and thus highly intelligent, eager to learn and obedient. Most dogs and mixes of this breed are very sensitive, clingy and the biggest snugglers in the house, where they can usually live without problems with cats and even small animals, while they can develop a strong prey drive outside and therefore need good basic training to be able to roam around without a leash (but this applies to 90% of all dogs). Especially when it comes to tenderness and the need for love, Randall is already a typical Breton, but he also knows how to play and have fun, disciplines that he patiently practices with his fellow animals in Arca Sevilla. A black-and-white superdog is waiting for the chance to win a family, conquer a sofa, become the hero of his street, occupy his own dog bed and much more. Randall is a sociable, balanced dog who has just gone through puberty and is already well-established in terms of character. A dream for beginners, a raw diamond for experienced dog owners - don't hesitate too long, our gentle Bretons have already won so many hearts!

About Randall

What life with Randall looks like

Randall is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Randall, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Randall?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Randall on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Randall if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Randall already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Randall isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Randall and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
