adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Rani – what a resonant name: it means Queen or Princess. And how wonderful it would be if our Rani were sitting on a throne of love – without worries, without loneliness. Our Princess is not only beautiful – she also has real power. Rani wants to claim her new kingdom with stormy determination. She already knows what it's like to live in a house and adapts to new environments quickly. However, she needs a lot of space and clear boundaries, as Rani's energy would otherwise explode in all directions. We know very little about Rani's past. But currently, we experience her as a very loving female dog who is eager to learn and has a great time! Since Rani is such a whirlwind, it will be important that her human is patient with her. Step by step, the little Princess should learn and love the structured dog life. Dog training classes could help, but an experienced first-dog would work too. The sweet Rani is sociable and loves having many people around her! Our mouse is medium-sized and weighs around 20kg. Rani's tail is short – which is why she unfortunately cannot enter Switzerland – it could be congenital or caused by an accident. Our Rani gets along well with dogs and cats. She is outgoing and enthusiastically makes friends – if she had a small telephone book, it would be bursting at the seams with names. 😀 Do you want to teach our Princess Rani the ins and outs of being a dog, groom her, enjoy her laughter, and build her first castle of love and security in her life? Rani's little majestic suitcase is packed. She brings her EU pet passport, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She can also stay in a foster home for now, and she would be very happy about it! Thank you, Selina, for giving Rani this wonderful name and thus an identity. A big thank you also goes to Sonnen Apotheke, which has taken on a monthly sponsorship for Rani. As of: 14.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Rani

What life with Rani looks like

Rani is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
