At the shelter, among hundreds of dogs, Rasmus is one of those you can easily walk past without noticing. Small, black, unassuming—he doesn’t catch anyone’s eye. Yet behind this unremarkable appearance lies a wonderful dog who longs so deeply for his own human companion. We believe Rasmus once had a home—a person who was his whole world. You can see it in his behavior: he feels perfectly at ease in a home environment. He travels calmly by car, isn’t afraid of taking the elevator, and in an apartment, he happily finds relief from the daily routine of shelter life. Despite his age, Rasmus still has plenty of life left in him. He loves going for walks and explores the world with boundless curiosity. He eagerly trots along on the leash, and his joyful tail-wagging can lift even the gloomiest mood. Unfortunately, the shelter is having a very negative impact on him. The noise, constant stress, and life behind bars are draining his energy. His body simply can’t cope with the daily tension. Veterinarians have also detected early signs of cataracts in him, which is why we dream even more strongly that he’ll leave the shelter as soon as possible. Seeing Rasmus locked up in a kennel breaks our hearts. He’s an intelligent, gentle four-legged friend who loves people, gets along well with other dogs, and has been waiting fruitlessly for his chance for a year now. We’re afraid that if no one notices him, the shelter will start taking away not only his health but also his hope. Maybe it’s you who’ll recognize in him a lifelong friend? Rasmus isn’t asking for much—he just needs a peaceful home, a warm bed, and a human whom he can love with all his canine heart.

W schronisku, pośród setek psów, Rasmus jest jednym z tych, obok których łatwo przejść. Mały, czarny, niepozorny – nie przyciąga spojrzeń. A przecież za tym niepozornym wyglądem kryje się cudowny pies, który tak bardzo tęskni za własnym człowiekiem. Myślimy, że Rasmus kiedyś miał dom. Kogoś, kto był dla niego całym światem. Widać to po jego zachowaniu – doskonale odnajduje się w domowych warunkach. Grzecznie podróżuje samochodem, nie boi się jazdy windą, a w mieszkaniu z ulgą odpoczywa od schroniskowej codzienności. Mimo swojego wieku Rasmus wciąż ma w sobie mnóstwo życia. Uwielbia spacery i z ciekawością odkrywa świat. Chętnie maszeruje na smyczy, a jego radosne merdanie ogonem potrafi poprawić humor nawet w najgorszy dzień. Niestety schronisko bardzo źle na niego wpływa.
