Remini

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Remini is a 5-year-old female dog who was rescued from a breeding farm and found refuge with us. What she endured there is unbelievable: she was kept outside in sub-zero temperatures without a visible food or water bowl. The ground was covered in dirt and mud, and there was no insulating material that could have provided her with even a little warmth. (See photos) Unfortunately, she didn’t get to experience much in her previous life. On the leash, she currently still determines her own behavior – leash training needs to be established. It becomes clear that she is a real powerhouse and uses her strength to pull effectively. Training, patience, and physical stability are needed here. Remini does not get along with other animals. In fact, she reacts aggressively to them, leading one to wonder if this behavior might have been trained. Therefore, a home as a single dog is essential. On the other hand, Remini loves humans devotedly. She seeks their proximity, wanting to be with them every minute and enjoying attention and affection very much. It is sad to think that she was kept outside for so long – especially for a dog so people-oriented and in need of love. Remini has been fully examined by a veterinarian, and fortunately, she has not suffered any health issues. Who knows how long that would have lasted under these circumstances. Currently, we are working intensively with her to teach her everything she was previously denied. She is eager to learn but needs clear structures, consistent training, and people who are willing to go this path with her. For Remini, we are searching for a training-willing, loving home without other animals, with clear rules, much time, proximity – and most importantly, without cold. She has had to go without for so long and deserves a life of safety and security.

About Remini

What life with Remini looks like

Remini is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Arche Noah in Graz.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires intensive training for leash walking, must be only pet in household due to aggression toward other animals

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Remini, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Remini?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Arche Noah handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Remini on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Remini if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Arche Noah will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Remini already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Remini isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Arche Noah early rather than rehoming privately; they know Remini and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
