adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Renoir has found a home! His story: Renoir traveled to his foster home in May 2024 and now proves to everyone how great he is! Renoir distributes his love among two- and four-legged friends and is very happy about his newfound freedom! Renoir is getting more comfortable in the foster home every day. There, the friendly male dog lives with other dogs. He keeps to himself and is very respectful to his new friends. Finally, he has the necessary peace and time to explore a whole new world. Renoir enjoys going for walks and is already walking well on a leash. At first, he was shy, but he is opening up more and more. It has turned out that he is very playful, something that the previously reserved Renoir could not show. He is becoming more and more himself, growing braver, but still remains the gentle magical giant who can enjoy his new life more and more. Renoir lived on the streets of Romania with a pack of male and female dogs, with whom he got along well. The poor animal suffered from the skin disease Demodex, which, left untreated, became a terrible ordeal. Renoir was therefore brought to the shelter. Here, he was treated with medication and could travel home healed. Renoir is estimated to be around 6 years old. At 65 to 70 cm in height, Renoir is not a small dog, but his patient and cautious nature makes him a gentle giant. We assume that Renoir is a mixed breed of herding or herding guard dog. What does that mean? After arriving at your home in peace and taking things slowly to build trust, Renoir will have a lot to learn. House training, leash walking, recall, vet visits, gradual independence – every family writes their own rules that cater to their fosterling's needs. If you have experience with herding or herding guard dogs, you know that herding dogs are very eager to learn and feel responsible for their people, while herding guard dogs are more independent and need a confident primary caregiver. For both characters, however, it is true that they are fascinating beings, sensitive and finely tuned, who greatly enjoy the caring contact with their people. Dog schools and trainers can help you and Renoir form a special team that can trust each other throughout their entire dog life with positive support. Renoir can be visited in Beverungen if you are interested in giving this charming boy a home for his entire dog life. Renoir is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. We thank the godmother Rosi for giving Renoir a beautiful name, thus preserving his identity. As of: 31.05.

Was bedeutet das? Stand: 31.05.2024

About Renoir

What life with Renoir looks like

Renoir is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Renoir, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Renoir?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Renoir on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Renoir if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Renoir already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Renoir isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Renoir and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
