Rex, our slowly aging 11-year-old black and white Great Dane, went through a massive transformation since we took her in. She spent her first 10 years of life with an elderly guardian, ignorant of the world outside, the rain, and the existence of other people, but at least with love. Unfortunately, after her guardian's passing, her relatives' circumstances did not allow them to take her in, so she found a new chance at a new life with us. At first (since everything, but really everything and everyone was new to her), she was wary, fearful, and because she didn't know how to handle the myriad of new situations, she often gave us a small crocodile smile. 🙂 Time passed. The one who could only stop and stand in front of the kennel and with a few kind words—name, of course, with a fine attitude—tried to earn Rex's trust, while her small, torn heart began to slowly open to us. Now, she hardly recognizes the one she met only on entry. Rex can already be taken out for walks, for runs, and for adventures. It turned out that she loves to play, though she's still learning the rules of the game, but she's lively and endearing as she sits on her short little legs. She adores her siblings and no longer takes our hand away after every treat, but instead takes the treat bowl with grace. She looks forward to being petted, wagging her tail, and with her sweet eyes and determined little nudge, she shows that she already loves us, trusts us. We are looking for that capital G Guardian who will love her until the end of her life, to whom she can always come running, who will refill her little heart with love, because she deserves it. Rex, a mi lassan 11 éves hóbortos uracskánk hatalmas változáson ment keresztül, mióta nálunk van. Életének első 10 évét idős gazdijával élte le, a külvilág izgalmairól, a pórázról és más emberek létezéséről mit sem tudva, de legalább szeretetben. Sajnos gazdija halála után a rokonok életkörülményei nem tették lehetővé, hogy hozzájuk kerüljön, így Rex egy új esély reményében a mi lakónk lett. Kezdetben (mivel minden, de tényleg minden és mindenki új volt számára) zavart volt, félt és mivel nem tudta, hogy kezelje a rengeteg új helyzetet, sokszor villantotta ránk kis krokodil mosolyát. 🙂 Telt az idő. Aki csak tehette megállt a kennelje előtt és pár kedves szóval – nameg persze finom falattal – próbálta elnyerni Rex ingatag bizalmát, mígnem elkezdett megtört kis szíve lassan nyitni felénk. Mára szinte rá sem ismerne az, aki csak a bekerülésekor találkozott vele. Rexet már ki tudjuk hozni sétálni, kirándulni, futkározni. Kiderült, hogy szeret labdázni, bár a játékszabályokat még tanulja, de lelkes és imádnivaló, ahogy szedi a rövid lábacskáit. Szereti a pocakját és már nem kapja be csuklóig a kezünket minden falat finomságért, hanem szépen veszi el a jutalomfalatot. Rajong a simogatásért, csillogó, kedves szemeivel és finoman határozott bújásával jelzi, hogy ő már szeret minket, bízik bennünk. Keressük számára azt a nagybetűs GAZDIT, akire élete végéig szerelemmel nézhet, akihez bármikor hozzábújhat, aki újra megtölti kis szívét szeretettel, hiszen megérdemli.
