Rhoda

Greyhound Β· Unknown Β· Adult Β· 5 years

Rhoda is in foster care in Southampton, Hampshire, she arrived in our care on the 2nd of September 2026 and she was born on the 15th of June 2021. This girl is on the smaller size, she can be a little reserved until she gets to know you but then her true character comes out! Rhoda can get excited when she greets familiar people, she will show this with a big waggy tail and comes running at you with a massive grin. She is a funny girl. This girl loves to play with you and soft toys, she just loves running around and having fun, what more could you ask for! She also enjoys a good game of chase with her canine friends. Our lovely girl is lacking fur on her tummy and back legs, please don’t be put of by this, she is such an adorable girl and we are working on bringing this missing fur back. Rhoda does not have any medical reasons why the fur is missing so we are hoping it will return but equally we love her no less than the other greyhounds in our care. We hope you will feel the same too. Rhoda is housetrained and used to everyday noises in and around the home. She shows no fear of washing machine, dishwasher, hoover and is getting more used to outside noises such as car/motor bike engines starting and other familiar sounds. Our gorgeous girl lives alongside 9 other greyhounds both girls and boys, she gets on well with them all. Rhoda enjoys cuddling up to another greyhound at bedtime but equally will be happy to have a bed of her own. This girl does LOVE her food! Rhoda loves the kitchen so watch out for any tasty treats on the side, as they won’t stay there long with this girl around! She enjoys her car rides, knowing she is going to have a nice walk somewhere and can easily jump into a vehicle ready for her next adventure. Rhoda enjoys going out for her walks, she walks nicely on a lead and enjoys everything that she sees, all with a big smile and a waggy tail. She can however get a little excited if a squirrel runs across the path! After all the excitement of being

About Rhoda

What life with Rhoda looks like

Rhoda is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at Greyhound Lifeline in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rhoda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rhoda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Greyhound Lifeline handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rhoda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rhoda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Greyhound Lifeline will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rhoda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rhoda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Greyhound Lifeline early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rhoda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
