RIA

Female · Young · 1 year

Our European Shorthair cat RIA was born around July 2025. She came to us as a found animal, so we unfortunately have no information about her background. RIA is looking for a loving home with people who will give her lots of attention, mental stimulation, and affection. She is also suitable for families with children. With fellow animals, RIA shows good compatibility. As she is still young and loves to play, she is looking for a confident companion of a similar age that she can look up to and explore the world with. A peaceful coexistence with a quiet, cat-experienced dog might also be possible. RIA will be rehomed in a place suitable for apartment living. A fully networked and escape-proof balcony is a prerequisite so she can enjoy fresh air and observe her surroundings. In a quiet, rural area, after appropriate acclimatization and individual assessment, a walk or a home with a garden might also be possible. RIA is an open and people-oriented young cat. She is friendly and cuddly, enjoys being close to her humans and looks forward to cuddle sessions. At the same time, she brings her typical youthful energy: she is playful, curious, and always ready for new adventures. Additionally, she shares and seeks contact with her humans in her own unique way. -0Fax:. This cat needs outdoor access. Some symptoms here are age-related.

DE·Show original

-0Fax: 089/90 73 20E-Mail

About RIA

What life with RIA looks like

RIA is a young adult cat waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting RIA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RIA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RIA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RIA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RIA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RIA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know RIA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
