Rick und Morty

Scottish Fold · Male

Two male Scottish Fold cats Rick and Morty came to us as surrendered animals and are now looking for a new home where they can arrive forever. The two are real heartbreakers: loving, affectionate, curious and people-oriented. They enjoy attention, explore their surroundings with interest and enjoy long cuddling moments. They complement each other wonderfully and give each other security, which is why we would like to mediate the two together. Despite all the cuteness of their folded ears, we want to address one thing openly: Scottish Fold cats are a breed that has been subjected to cruel breeding practices. The typical folded ears for this breed result from a genetic defect that affects not only the ears but also the entire cartilage and movement apparatus. Many animals suffer from pain, joint changes, arthritis or mobility restrictions over their lifetime. The folded ears are thus no harmless beauty feature, but an expression of a genetic disease. Rick and Morty currently appear as happy, active and lively cats. Nevertheless, we are looking for people who are aware of this problem, can observe possible health changes attentively and are willing to accompany the two with veterinary care if necessary. For Rick and Morty, we wish a loving home in apartment keeping with enough space, occupation and climbing possibilities. Secured outdoor access or a cat-proof garden would also be a dream. The most important thing is that the two can stay together and find people who accept them as they are. Anyone looking for two incredibly loving, affectionate and curious cats and at the same time wants to deal responsibly with the special features of this breed should get to know Rick and Morty. ❤️🐱🐱 Please note: We mediate Rick and Morty as wonderful cat personalities, not as representatives of a "fashion breed". We expressly reject further breeding of Scottish Fold cats. Anyone who wants to meet the two cute cats can please make an appointment with us in advance.

About Rick und Morty

What life with Rick und Morty looks like

Rick und Morty is a medium-sized adult scottish fold cat waiting at Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. in St. Ingbert.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rick und Morty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rick und Morty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rick und Morty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rick und Morty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rick und Morty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rick und Morty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rick und Morty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
