Ricky und Raika

Female · Kitten · 3 months

Turbo Duo is looking for a large play area...and an even larger food bowl. Food? Where, when, how much? Bring it on, now! We want to grow big and strong. And watch out, if anyone pokes at our food with their paws. That's going to be a problem for them. But really. We don't share with each other, so we don't share with strangers either! Otherwise, we love to share. Everything. Toys, cuddly pillows, sleeping box...Where one is, the other is. We are soooo thick with each other. Nothing can come between us. That's why we only move in together. There's nothing to discuss. Two is also less lonely. And did you know that you can play a lot better and more with two? We meant to say play! And don't be fooled by the photo. That was taken on the 1st day at the shelter. We were a bit intimidated then. We're so fast now, the photo people can't snap as fast as we can run. Hi, hi...Don't believe it? Well, then you'll have to visit us. You'll see...Don't forget the toys...J Animal adoptions are currently by appointment only. If you're interested in one of our animals, please contact us in advance by phone at 05481/4146 or by email.

Essen? Wo, wann, wieviel? Her damit, sofort!

About Ricky und Raika

What life with Ricky und Raika looks like

Ricky und Raika is a large kitten cat waiting at Tierheim Tecklenburger Land in Lengerich.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ricky und Raika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ricky und Raika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tecklenburger Land handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ricky und Raika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ricky und Raika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tecklenburger Land will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ricky und Raika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ricky und Raika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tecklenburger Land early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ricky und Raika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
