adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this dog now! Rika is a real stunner. She has beautiful large pointed ears, with which she will surely hear every crinkle of a treat bag in her new home. Her lovely white fur with the dark spot on her face makes her unmistakable. The pretty female dog is approximately 2 years old and weighs around 23 kg. With that, she has a medium size. Compatibility with other animals and cats has not yet been tested. At the moment, Rika is still a bit shy and reserved. But who can blame her for still getting used to the loud and stressful shelter life? Despite her reserve, she allows herself to be petted and also takes treats from her hand. She is cautious and shows no signs of aggression. It can be assumed that Rika has never experienced life in a home before. Therefore, we are looking for people who can show her with patience and empathy everything and gently introduce her to dog 101. Shy dogs need time to settle in. It is then wonderful to observe how they gradually come alive and show a little more of their personality each day. Rika is young and smart and will surely develop a liking to working with her head. A visit to a positively working dog training class would therefore be a wonderful opportunity for Rika to learn and gain confidence. And at the same time, you could grow as a team. Do you have a spot for Rika in your home and in your heart? The sweet Rika travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and with her own EU pet passport to her new home. She can also be fostered, which would be a great stepping stone for Rika into a new life. We send many greetings and a big thank you to Ricardo L.! Thanks to your namesake, Rika not only has a pretty name but also the great chance at a happy dog life. As of: 22.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Rika

What life with Rika looks like

Rika is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
