Adopt Rinti

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Rinti has been living with a young couple since she was a puppy. Now that there are children in the home, there isn't enough time for Rinti's needs. She must therefore get a new chance at life—in a new, loving home. She is a fantastic sweet girl with soft, furry fur—and a spark in her eye. She has had a good dog life, where she has been on many nature adventures and even visited relatives in bigger cities. Rinti has gone skiing, on hiking trips, and is a keen driver of cars. She has also been around horses and other animals. With a little newcomer in the home, life has changed, and Rinti feels a bit stressed and doesn't get the daily security she needs. She now wishes for a beautiful home that is in a quiet location and where she can be very important. The home should be in the vicinity of beautiful countryside areas, and you should enjoy staying out in nature and be able to offer exciting adventures and plenty of snuggling. Rinti will be a fantastic companion in the right home. She lives as a lone dog in her current home, but we believe that a dog companion in the new home would be both positive and fun. She is also completely okay with cats. To our beautiful Rinti, we are now searching for an eternal home that she will never have to worry about leaving. You must offer a loving, inclusive, and stress-free environment. A rural location is a plus as she thrives in the countryside. If there are children in the home, they should be older. A kind dog companion would be nice as Rinti has always lived as the only dog and never had the chance to form a close dog relationship. Background: Every year, hundreds of thousands of unwanted litters are born in Romania. Their lives, often short, are marked by immense suffering from the very beginning. In Cernavoda, SaveTheDogs offers free spaying and neutering to all owners, but many refuse for various strange reasons. They fail to realize the suffering they are causing, and thus, even owned dogs are free to roam the streets and reproduce.

About Rinti

What life with Rinti looks like

Rinti is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundhjälpen in Stockholm.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rinti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rinti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundhjälpen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rinti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rinti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundhjälpen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rinti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rinti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundhjälpen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rinti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
