Adopt RIO & MIÑO

Mixed Breed · Unknown

RIO & MIÑO Due to changes in their foster care home, Rio and Miño had to return to the animal rescue association. So here we are again, looking for them a permanent home. Their names are due to the fact that they were found as puppies discarded in a bag in the River Miño. They are good, affectionate, and very sociable dogs. They get along well with other dogs and cats. They adore human company and receiving cuddles. They are not doing well, especially Miño, who is sad and depressed. Although Rio is their big support and all the volunteers try to give them all the attention they deserve, it is not enough. They need a permanent home, and it would be wonderful if they could go together, but they can also go separately. If you want to give them the home they so desperately need and make their hearts beat with joy again, call us. Adoption Phone: 692 87 19 84 (ONLY CALLS)

About RIO & MIÑO

What life with RIO & MIÑO looks like

RIO & MIÑO is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aloia Protectora in Tui.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting RIO & MIÑO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RIO & MIÑO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aloia Protectora handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RIO & MIÑO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RIO & MIÑO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aloia Protectora will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RIO & MIÑO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RIO & MIÑO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aloia Protectora early rather than rehoming privately; they know RIO & MIÑO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
