Robin

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Robin is a gorgeous young black cat with sleek short black fur and a sparkle of curiosity in her eyes. She was handed in as a stray to a vet practice. She's playful, independent, inquisitive and always up for an adventure and not fussy or greedy with food. Robin has a very sweet personality and loves playing with anything that resembles a tail and shredding of paper towels is a delight. She likes playing hide and seek; she waits around a corner and then pounces playfully. Robin is missing her bottom teeth, so her tongue sticks out a little as you can see in the first photo. It's rather cute! She can seem a little shy at first but when she feels loved and safe she will soon settle in. She follows her foster mum around and takes her favourite toy to bed every night. She tells us she would like to be an only cat please and gets very uppity with any cat that comes into the garden, telling them both vocally and by waving her tail that she isn't at all happy with their presence. Robin is FIV-positive, but with a loving home and good care, she can live a long, happy, healthy life. If you're looking for a clever companion with a big personality Robin is ready to steal your heart. Due to being FIV positive Robin will need a home with a very safe, secure garden or a catio. She gets stressed when she can't have any outdoor access. She has been going out in the garden at her foster home but never ventures far. Robin has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinatedWider coverage area considered

About Robin

What life with Robin looks like

Robin is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hounslow Animal Welfare Society in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Robin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Robin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hounslow Animal Welfare Society handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Robin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Robin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hounslow Animal Welfare Society will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Robin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Robin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hounslow Animal Welfare Society early rather than rehoming privately; they know Robin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
