Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside

English Bulldog · Female

Please welcome Rocco into the GBSR family. Rocco was recently rescued by a lady who found him through a Facebook ad. When she arrived to collect him, she quickly realised he was nothing like the photos she had been shown. Instead, she found a shut down, underweight and deeply sad little boy. She knew she couldn’t leave him there, so she brought him home immediately to get him safe. After getting Rocco home, she began to notice just how much support he truly needed. Rocco was riddled with worms and is showing clear signs of previous abuse and neglect. He cowers frequently and seems unsure of the world around him. We have no idea what this poor boy has been through, but we’re incredibly grateful he is now safe with us. Wanting to do the very best for him, she made the difficult but selfless decision to surrender Rocco into our care when she realised she couldn’t provide the level of mental and physical support he needed to recover. We completely understood, and we’re thankful she stepped in to save him when she did. Now it’s our turn to help Rocco heal and prepare him for the forever life he deserves. Despite everything he’s endured, Rocco has already shown us he still has so much love to give. He’s a playful boy who loves a ball and enjoys his little walks. Rocco is a 2-year-old unneutered boy who is now in foster with first-time foster Helen in the Yorkshire and Humberside region. Thank you, Helen, for stepping up so quickly to collect him — we appreciate you so much. Welcome to the team. And of course, a huge welcome to you too, Rocco. You’re safe now, and we can’t wait to watch you grow in confidence with Helen’s love, patience and support. Please note: Rocco is not available for adoption at this time and we are not taking any pre-interest applications. You are welcome to follow his journey with us, but applications will not be accepted right now. {"slide_to_show":"3","slide_to_scroll":"1","autoplay":"true","autoplay_speed":"3000","speed":"800","arrows":"true","dots":"false","loop":"true","centermode":"false"}

About Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside

What life with Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside looks like

Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside is a extra-large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rocco – In Foster – Yorkshire & Humberside and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
