Adopt Rocky

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 14 years

Rocky is about 14 years old (born in 2011) and weighs approximately 15/16 kg. Neutered, vaccinated and chipped. Health: Rocky permanently takes thyroid hormones and medications supporting heart function. In addition, he takes joint supplements due to his tendency to develop laryngitis. This cocker spaniel is getting old. His legs no longer obey, he has muscle atrophy of the skull and his eye is sunken in, it's frightening to think what will happen next. He can be incredibly affectionate, gives kisses and asks for pats. Cats don't bother him, with other dogs he's different, he tolerates many dogs both on walks and at home, but if another dog growls first - Rocki will accept the challenge. The house is strictly without children. We will require a kennel cage for him - for life. He will have to be fed in the cage for life! He has such an appetite that when he gets something requiring longer eating - he turns into a gnawing monster. ADOPTION PROCEDURE 1. Fill out the Adoption Questionnaire from the link: 2. About Rocky

What life with Rocky looks like

Rocky is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rocky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rocky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rocky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rocky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rocky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rocky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rocky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
