Rocky is a 10-year-old male Yorkshire Terrier mix who ended up at the animal shelter due to his owner’s health issues. For him, this represents a major change—so he approaches his new surroundings with great caution. Throughout his life so far, the little dog hasn’t had much opportunity to receive proper training and initially reacts with suspicion toward strangers. When he feels uncertain or threatened, Rocky doesn’t hesitate to clearly communicate his boundaries and, if necessary, even use his teeth. That’s why we’re looking for people with dog-experience who can read body language and won’t push him into anything he’s not ready for. However, once Rocky has built trust, he reveals an entirely different side: He’s affectionate, friendly, and thoroughly enjoys being close to his trusted humans. In addition, Rocky comes with several ongoing health issues that are currently being evaluated and treated by a veterinarian. We’d be happy to provide more detailed information during a personal conversation. We’d like Rocky to find a calm home filled with patience, understanding, and people who give him the time he needs to settle in at his own pace. Anyone willing to earn his trust will gain a small dog with a big heart.

Rocky ist ein 10 Jahre alter Yorkshire-Terrier-Mischlingsrüde, der aufgrund gesundheitlicher Probleme seines Besitzers ins Tierheim gekommen ist. Für ihn bedeutet das einen großen Einschnitt – entsprechend vorsichtig begegnet er seiner neuen Umgebung. Der kleine Hundemann hat in seinem bisherigen Leben nicht viel Erziehung kennenlernen dürfen und reagiert fremden Menschen gegenüber zunächst misstrauisch. Wenn er sich unsicher oder bedrängt fühlt, scheut Rocky nicht davor zurück, seine Grenzen deutlich zu kommunizieren und notfalls auch seine Zähne einzusetzen. Deshalb suchen wir für ihn Menschen mit Hundeerfahrung, die Körpersprache lesen können und ihn nicht zu etwas drängen. Hat Rocky jedoch Vertrauen aufgebaut, zeigt er eine ganz andere Seite: Er ist anhänglich, freundlich und genießt die Nähe zu seinen Bezugspersonen sehr. Zusätzlich bringt Rocky einige gesundheitliche Baustellen mit, die aktuell noch tierärztlich abgeklärt und behandelt werden. Genauere Informationen geben wir gerne im persönlichen Gespräch. Für Rocky wünschen wir uns ein ruhiges Zuhause mit Geduld, Verständnis und Menschen, die ihm die Zeit geben, in seinem Tempo anzukommen.
