Adopt Rodrigo

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 8 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Rodrigo can travel to a new home with Bolle! His story: Zalau, Romania. A four-leaf clover with 4 kittens instead of leaves! Here come the 4 survivors Nena, Bela, Farin, and Rodrigo. Rodrigo was found together with his 3 siblings as a small kitten and very sick by our animal rescuer alone and abandoned without a mother. All 4 had a strong cold, inflamed eyes, and were full of parasites. But the rescue came just in time, so we are happy that the 4 are still with us. And now we wish them their next piece of luck – the journey to a new family. Rodrigo is the shyest of the 4 siblings. But that doesn't mean he's afraid of people or doesn't like to be petted. He just needs a few minutes longer than his siblings to warm up to people, then he approaches them openly, enjoys being petted, and fully appreciates the attention. Rodrigo is also a purebred snuggly kitty 😉 Also, Rodrigo is a playful young tom, but compared to his peers, the 8-month-old little guy can also be very laid-back and search for the coziest spots and spend a few hours there. Rodrigo is generally a well-balanced, sweet, and lovable little treasure. Rodrigo shows himself as a very social and endearing tomcat to his fellow animals. He gets along well with everyone, whether old, young, laid-back, or playful. We are also looking for a home for Rodrigo where he not only spends his time with loving people but also with other kittens. If you still don't have a soft paw waiting for Rodrigo, he will also take one of his friends on his journey to you. As an outdoor cat, we do not place him. Of course, Rodrigo will be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas during his travel arrangements, like all our cats and toms. He of course also has an EU pet passport and is looking forward to it after a positive check. Have you fallen in love with Rodrigo? His mailbox is waiting for your request. Many thanks, Silvie S.! You have given the whole gang their names!

Hast du dein Herz an Rodrigo verloren? Sein Postfach wartet auf deine Anfrage. Vielen Dank Silvie S.!

About Rodrigo

What life with Rodrigo looks like

Rodrigo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rodrigo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rodrigo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rodrigo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rodrigo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rodrigo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rodrigo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rodrigo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
