Rokki (reserviert)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Rokki is a slender, graceful and beautiful male dog, probably a Doberman mix. He is calm, obedient, sensitive, very gentle, affectionate, people-oriented and friendly. He bonds closely with his human and would love to be always near them. He lays his head on the lap, nudges hands, asks for pets and attention and watches his human attentively. Rokki is a very obedient dog. You don't have to tell him things multiple times, because he understands quickly. He learns new things easily and is very smart and attentive. Rokki is initially rather reserved with strangers. He needs some time to get used to a new environment and new people and learn the rules and routines in his family. Once he feels safe and has gained trust, he will become a particularly loyal and loving friend. Aggression is completely foreign to him. Rokki would rather withdraw, give in and avoid conflicts. He gets along wonderfully with cats, as he grew up with them, and also gets along well with other dogs. He is especially gentle and friendly with female dogs. Rokki behaves calmly and friendly towards children. Rokki travels very well in the car, is house-trained and can stay alone at home quietly and quietly. He doesn't break anything. Another big advantage is that he hardly ever barks. Rokki has short hair and sheds very little. His story is sad. Rokki's mother was a Doberman female dog who was abandoned on the street while pregnant and gave birth to her puppies there. Unfortunately, the animal welfare officers could only rescue Rokki and his sister. Both came to a foster home whose foster mother is a dog trainer and dealt intensively with them. She speaks very lovingly about Rokki and especially emphasizes his calm and gentle character. She taught him the basic commands and got him used to the leash. Rokki does not pull at all on the leash, and walks with him are very pleasant. Because of his gentle nature and elegant movements, his foster mother lovingly calls him her little deer fawn. Rokki fits many families. He can be happy in both a quiet and an active family, gladly with children, cats or a friendly female dog. He will be a wonderful companion and a loyal friend for life.

DE·Show original

About Rokki (reserviert)

What life with Rokki (reserviert) looks like

Rokki (reserviert) is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. in Gladbeck.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rokki (reserviert), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rokki (reserviert)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rokki (reserviert) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rokki (reserviert) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rokki (reserviert) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rokki (reserviert) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rokki (reserviert) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
