Roma

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 8 years

Roma is the most wonderful, gentle, calm, and easy-going girl. She is looking for a new home through SeBPRA and currently being fostered in Cumbria. She is a beautiful 8 year old Sabeuso, which is a Spanish hound dog. She has been living happily in the UK for the past six years, but sadly, through no fault of her own, she recently had to move into a foster home after her adopter lost their home. Her wonderful foster family has now also had a change in circumstances, meaning Roma needs to urgently find her new home by the end of November. Roma is such an easy girl that could live with or without other dogs and also with sensible respectful children. She gives everyone her special waggy greeting and has a relaxed and steady nature. Roma would suit first time adopters that are looking for a slow paced and gentle easygoing companion. She enjoys gentle steady walks and then home to relax and a bit of a snooze. She is also happy to be left on her home for a few hours. What a superstar ! Roma enjoys a trip out in the car and would love her own garden to potter around in and explore. Roma had cherry eye when she was in Spain, which was successfully operated on. It has recently come back and SeBPA will support any treatment needed for this. She also takes supplements to help the fur growth on her back leg where had an injury in the past. This has improved hugely since she came to the UK and it doesn’t appear to cause her any bother. Affectionate and always a happy girl, Roma will make the most wonderful companion and best friend for the lucky applicant. If you think you have the perfect home for loving Roma please contact SeBPRA and fill in an Application Form here . Please mention that you saw Roma on the Oldies Club website.

About Roma

What life with Roma looks like

Roma is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Roma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
