Ronie

Mixed Breed · Male

RONIE – a dog taken into our care through an intervention. Roni is a dog who has undergone a remarkable transformation and serves as the best proof of how much patience, safety, and a bit of hard work can achieve. He came to our shelter following an intervention. At first, he was extremely frightened, distrustful, and withdrawn. He was afraid of people, new situations, and the world around him. Every single day was a huge challenge for him. Thanks to the patient efforts of our caregivers and volunteers, Roni gradually began to regain his trust. Today, he’s a completely different dog. He’s becoming more and more confident in exploring the world, eagerly seeks human contact, and joyfully embraces every moment spent together. He’s cheerful, energetic, and incredibly curious. A walk is a real adventure for him. He observes his surroundings with great interest, sniffs everything, and delights in the opportunity to discover new places. He’s still a bit cautious around unfamiliar people, but it really doesn’t take much time at all for him to overcome his fear. Once he feels safe, he reveals his sunny and warm nature. He walks nicely on a leash and happily goes on long walks. Roni is looking for a home that will give him what he’s often lacked so far— a sense of security, patience, and love. In return, he’ll repay you with loyalty, joy, and ever-growing trust. Right now, he’s just waiting for someone who’ll show him that he’ll never have to be afraid again. ul. RONIE - psiak odebrany interwencyjnie. Roni to pies, który przeszedł ogromną przemianę i jest najlepszym dowodem na to, jak wiele potrafią zmienić cierpliwość, bezpieczeństwo i trochę pracy. Trafił do naszego schroniska w wyniku interwencji. Na początku był bardzo przestraszony, nieufny i wycofany. Bał się ludzi, nowych sytuacji i otaczającego go świata. Każdy dzień był dla niego ogromnym wyzwaniem. Dzięki cierpliwej pracy naszych opiekunów i wolontariuszy Roni powoli zaczął odzyskiwać zaufanie. Dziś to już zupełnie inny pies. Coraz śmielej odkrywa świat, chętnie nawiązuje kontakt z człowiekiem i z radością korzysta z każdej wspólnej chwili. Jest wesoły, energiczny i niezwykle ciekawski. Spacer to dla niego prawdziwa przygoda. Z zainteresowaniem obserwuje otoczenie, wszystko wącha i cieszy się możliwością poznawania nowych miejsc. W stosunku do nieznajomych osób bywa jeszcze odrobinę ostrożny, jednak potrzebuje naprawdę niewiele czasu, by przełamać swój lęk. About Ronie

What life with Ronie looks like

Ronie is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Kielce in Kielce.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Kielce handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Kielce will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Kielce early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
