Ronny

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Ronny - a little heartbreaker seeking great happiness. Like so many other puppies, the small Ronny was found on a busy road. Fortunately, our Bulgarian animal protection colleagues lovingly took him in and brought him to safety. However, Ronny should not grow up in the animal shelter - that's why he is looking for his own home or a foster placement starting in June. Ronny is a lively, curious and playful little guy. He shows himself to be social and open towards people as well as other dogs and loves playing with the other puppies at the shelter. We wish for patient and understanding people who will give him the time to settle in and get used to things. Of course, Ronny still has to learn the basics of being a dog: housebreaking, being alone, car rides, and all the many things a young dog should know. If you meet Ronny with love, patience and positive reinforcement, he will surely master it quickly and develop into a loyal and affectionate companion. There may be a part of a herding dog in his genes, so possible breed-specific characteristics should be considered. Who is ready to show a puppy the world, to lovingly accompany him as he grows up, and also calmly accept small setbacks? Ronny is waiting for his people. Adopting an animal shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs come with a backpack of past experiences or situations they haven't learned yet, and need time to adjust to their new life. If you are seriously interested in adopting Ronny, please contact the responsible adoption officer from SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home. Here is Ronny's video.

About Ronny

What life with Ronny looks like

Ronny is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
