adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! Relocation prerequisites adoption process Request this dog now! Ronny has spent almost 6 years and 11 months of its life on small square meters. For almost 7 years, no stroking hand, no closeness, no love – only concrete, bars, and the constant feeling of being alone. This long time has left its mark. Ronny is cautious, fearful, and retreats to the farthest corner as soon as someone enters its kennel. It tries to become invisible – out of fear of the unknown. And yet: behind its fear hides a heart that longs more than anything for trust and security. A small ray of hope is there: Ronny now takes treats out of our hand. For him, it’s a brave step – a sign that he hasn’t given up yet. Outside, a large field awaits, where dogs can play and frolic. But Ronny can’t yet use it because fear holds him back. Despite this, he is with his red ears and special fur pattern a real looker who could win every heart. Ronny is about 10 years old, 60 cm tall, and gets along well with female dogs. With male dogs, it depends on their liking. For Ronny, we are looking for an experienced, calm home with people who have a lot of patience, love, and empathy. Children should not live in the household as we cannot assess his behavior towards them. Ronny breaks when he continues to wait. But he could bloom – if someone finally shows him that love is also meant for him. Will you give Ronny the chance at a new life? Ronny is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He possesses his EU pet passport and will only be placed after a positive assessment. Even a foster home would make Ronny very happy. Who will give Ronny a new life full of love and trust? Many thanks to Andrea W.! You gave Ronny its name and thus an identity! A big thank you goes to Nina P., who took over a monthly sponsorship for Ronny. As of: 09.10.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvorraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Andrea W.! Stand: 09.10.2025

About Ronny

What life with Ronny looks like

Ronny is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
