Rosa, our celebrity! Omroep Zeeland has already produced several features about her. But “our” Rosa is finally ready for her new home after undergoing several medical treatments. Thanks to a fundraising campaign, we were able to cover the costs of her many medical procedures. We’re therefore hopeful that she’ll have a bright future in a lovely new home. Rosa is a beautiful and sweet cat who’s about 6.5 years old. We don’t know her exact age, as she was brought to us as a stray in October 2025. Upon arrival, it became clear that she had significant breathing difficulties. After several treatments administered by our veterinarian, it was eventually decided that she needed further care from a specialist—and with great success! Her breathing is still somewhat audible, but she no longer feels any discomfort from it herself. She’s now thoroughly enjoying life—and she’d be even happier in her own home. At the animal shelter, we can provide you with more details about her condition. Rosa is a friendly cat, yet she also has her own strong personality. She loves attention and appreciates being the center of focus. What’s especially nice is that she gives clear signals when she doesn’t like something. For example, she really doesn’t enjoy being picked up. On the other hand, she absolutely loves playing with toys—such as a feather wand. She doesn’t get along well with other cats or dogs, so we won’t place her with them.

Rosa, onze beroemdheid! Omroep Zeeland heeft namelijk al meerdere items over haar gemaakt.Maar "onze" Rosa is eindelijk klaar voor haar nieuwe thuis nadat ze medisch best het een en ander moest ondergaan. Dankzij een inzamelingsactie konden we haar vele medische behandelingen betalen. We hopen dan ook dat ze een mooie toekomst tegemoet gaat in een fijn nieuw thuis. Rosa is een mooie en lieve poes van ongeveer 6,5 jaar. Haar exacte leeftijd weten we niet, want ze is als zwerver bij ons binnengebracht in oktober 2025. Bij binnenkomst bleek ze erg veel moeite te hebben met haar ademhaling. Na diverse behandelingen (via onze dierenarts) is uiteindelijk besloten om haar verder te laten behandelen bij een specialist. En met succes! Haar ademhaling is nog ietwat hoorbaar, maar daar heeft ze zelf geen last meer van. Ze geniet inmiddels van het leven. En dat zou ze nog meer kunnen gaan doen in een eigen thuis. In het dierenasiel kunnen we u meer details geven over haar aandoening. Rosa is een vriendelijke poes, maar heeft ook een eigen wil. Ze geniet van aandacht. En wat ook fijn is dat ze duidelijke signalen geeft als ze iets niet leuk vindt. Zo vindt ze oppakken bijvoorbeeld echt niet fijn. Samen spelen met bijvoorbeeld een hengel vindt ze daarentegen erg leuk. Andere katten en honden vindt ze niet leuk, dus daar plaatsen we haar niet bij.
