Rosie

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

31-07-26 Rosie is the sweetest lady who has arrived all the way from Romania in search of her forever home. Despite her long journey, she is already trying so hard to be brave. She will happily approach us with a wiggly bum, and if we spend a little time sitting quietly with her, she soon starts to relax. Before long, she'll lie down beside us and happily accept some gentle bum scratches. Rosie is still quite worried by sudden movements and loud noises, which is completely understandable given how much change she has been through. Rosie is currently kennelled with other dogs and really enjoys their company. She gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends but is so people oriented that she could be an only dog in the right home with experienced adopters, or live with kind resident dogs who don't mind sharing their space, with this happy-go-lucky lady! Rosie's adopters will need to have experience with rescue dogs and understanding that it may take time for them to decompress and settle in. Rosie has recently been introduced to lead walking and is taking her learning at a slow pace, but with continued training and gentle encouragements she should pick this up. As Rosie has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and allow her to adjust at her own pace. Rosie can live with older, dog-savvy teens, aged 16+ who understand that she will need time to settle in. Rosie is a gentle, affectionate girl with a lovely nature. She is already showing us that she wants to trust people, and with a calm home, a confident canine friend, and plenty of patience, we hope she will continue to grow in confidence and enjoy all the comforts of family life. Rosie has a negative Brucella test. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Rosie

What life with Rosie looks like

Rosie is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
