Rosie

Mixed Breed · Female

Rosie is a multi-year old female shih tzu mix. I arrived at the shelter on July 10, 2026 from an intervention in the area of Sienkiewicza Street. Apparently, I was sitting on one of the stairwells there in the middle of the night. What happened before? Unfortunately, I can't tell you... All I know is that when I came under the shelter's care, I was very dirty and badly neglected. At first, I was very scared. Everything was new and stressful to me, so I needed some time to trust people. Fortunately, I quickly realized that a person can be good. Today, I am showing my character more boldly. Sometimes I bark loudly at the surroundings, and sometimes I proudly march with a plush toy in my mouth. Well... someone has to keep order! I'm just starting my shelter story, but I've already won over my caregivers. I still have diagnostics ahead of me, because during the examination, the rehabilitation nurse noticed pain in my hips. I hope we will soon find out what I need to feel at my best. However, my biggest dream is a home of my own. One where I'll be loved, surrounded by care and cared for as I deserve. In return, I promise to bring lots of charm, a bit of shih-tzu character and a whole sea of dog love into your life. If you want to get to know me better or learn more about my current health status, call the Homeless Animals Shelter "Psitulmnie" at 519 822 885. Maybe I'm waiting for you!

Cześć! Mam na imię Rosie i jestem kilkuletnią suczką w typie shih tzu.Do schroniska trafiłam 10 lipca 2026 roku z interwencji z okolic ul. Sienkiewicza. Czasem głośno obszczekuję otoczenie, a czasem dumnie maszeruję z pluszową zabawką w pyszczku. No cóż... ktoś przecież musi pilnować porządku! W zamian obiecuję wnieść do Twojego życia mnóstwo uroku, odrobinę shih-tzuowego charakterku i całe morze psiej miłości.

About Rosie

What life with Rosie looks like

Rosie is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
