Adopt Rosine

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born around September 2021, gender: female, neutered: yes. Personality: always friendly; awakened, friendly, and cuddly towards trusted people; very reserved with strangers – needs time to warm up; gets along with fellow animals. Size: approx. 50 cm. In the shelter since: February 2022. Sibling: Sister Nelu. Guten Tag dear people! I am a very friendly female dog and was rescued with my sister at the age of only a few months from the street. Since then, we have been living here in the shelter and are in safety. Thankfully! Because such a life as a street dog is dangerous and risky for young, inexperienced puppies like we were. But now we can breathe a sigh of relief and hope for a better future. I have won the hearts of my trusted people here in the shelter and am happy to receive any attention from them, especially in the form of cuddles. Living with a family, however, is still completely foreign to me, and I know almost nothing about the real life. I am still reserved towards strangers and need some time to take a step towards them and build trust. For a perfect start in my new life, I need patient and understanding people by my side who can gradually bring the new world closer to me at my own pace. Then I will also be ready to share my trust with you, so we can enjoy a wonderful future together. Now I hope that my wish to be allowed to embark on the great journey will be fulfilled very soon. If you are interested in Rosine, please fill out our application form () or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Rosine is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted for dogs over 12 months old before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Alexandra M. has taken the sponsorship for Rosine and ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!. Gets along with other dogs.

About Rosine

What life with Rosine looks like

Rosine is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
