Ross

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 8 months

Ross, born in March 2026, is looking for a loving family or a foster home that will give him a good start to a happy dog's life. A foster placement would also be a wonderful stepping stone for this young male on his way to his forever home. This sweet little guy is ready at last to settle in and explore the world together with his people. As is typical for a puppy, the friendly Ross is playful, curious, and full of mischief. He is in an exciting stage of life in which he still wants to learn a great deal and needs loving guidance. Ross already has one paw in adolescence, so of course he will test a boundary here and there. That is part of growing up and completely normal. With loving consistency, patience, and understanding, this exciting phase of development can be managed well. Attending a dog training school can be a valuable support and also helps him make contact with other dogs. Like every young dog, Ross needs plenty of sleep, social contact with other dogs, age-appropriate activities, and walks suited to his stage of development. Above all, though, he wishes for people who give him security, guidance, and lots of warmth. For Ross we are looking for people who enjoy experiencing the adventure of having a dog, who will show him the world with patience and understanding, and who will support him on his way to becoming a balanced companion. He wishes for a home where he is welcome not only today, but where he will be loved as a full family member for the next 14 to 15 years. Are you ready to accompany Ross on his journey from a cheerful young dog to a loyal companion, and to walk through thick and thin with him? Then he may have been waiting for you. Ross is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-adoption check. Due to her age, she is not yet neutered. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can continually reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly in presenting each individual dog as accurately as possible. However, we would like to point out that a dog may behave differently in a new environment, with new people, new routines, and new impressions. This is completely normal and part of any process of change. Many dogs even open up more quickly at home and show sides of themselves that were not visible at the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee of every behavior in a new setting. They are meant to provide guidance and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter, as well as the potential within him. We are convinced that with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and continue to develop positively.

About Ross

What life with Ross looks like

Ross is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ross, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ross?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ross on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ross if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ross already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ross isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ross and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
