Where are the Rottweiler enthusiasts for our beautiful Rox? Rox has lived on a balcony for a long time, eagerly waiting for his walks with his owner. He follows his moods day by day. If he's not motivated, he prefers to rest, but when he wants to play, he is a big softie. He also loves to swim, whether in rivers or... in city fountains where he feels like a fish in water. In the city, he likes to say hello to everyone. Rox is very affectionate with those he loves and knows how to be loyal and attached. He loves cuddles and moments of closeness, but also enjoys gentle fun. In terms of training, Rox knows basic commands such as "sit", "lie down", "you're dead!", "stay", and "on your place". He can be a bit stubborn and requires some persistence to listen. Without stimuli and with a structure, he is manageable on a leash, but remains powerful, so a strong man or woman will be welcome. With other dogs, he plays enthusiastically, sometimes a bit roughly, especially with females, so an appropriate playmate of his size will be needed. We will avoid males with a strong character. Rox is a second category dog looking for a patient and experienced family ready to give him all the structure and love he needs. He will not be placed with beginners, as he needs a reference person who understands the breed and its specific needs. Rox is a second category dog, but this in no way means he is dangerous. * For the owner, who must have: - a clean record and the aptitude certificate for first and second category dogs * For the dog (already done): - behavior test (level 2) and a passport plus rabies vaccination. Rox must be declared at the town hall and have insurance for second category dogs. For adoption, we also require a very well-fenced garden. Since the dog must be muzzled outside the property, we will not accept placements in apartments. The future adopter must be the owner of their house to avoid problems during a move. Rox has lived several years on a balcony in a housing complex, he hasn't experienced much. He attaches himself a lot to one person and does not consider other family members. The ideal would be a single person with experience with Rottweilers. Young children should be avoided. Since being at the shelter, he has become very attached to one of our educators who can do anything with him as you can see in the video. There will need to be an adjustment period with his new family. That is why we are looking for a place not too far from the shelter so that people can come several times to work with him and our educator. It will not be possible to come pick him up and leave immediately.

Il connaît de nombreux ordres, peut être lâché, se promène sans problème avec plusieurs chiens et se montre très à l’aise en ville ainsi qu’en voiture. Comme beaucoup de molosses, il a besoin de temps pour créer un lien. Il sait qu’il impressionne et peut en jouer ! Au départ il teste, grogne et cherche à voir jusqu’où il peut aller, surtout s’il sent que la personne qu’il a en face de lui manque de confiance. Il ne cherche pas à agresser mais plutôt à impressionner pour obtenir ce qu’il veut. Il faudra donc quelqu’un qui connaît les Rottweilers ou les molosses, qui n’en a pas peur et qui saura lui montrer calmement que son « petit cinéma » ne fonctionne pas. Une fois cette étape passée, Rox se révèle vraiment : il écoute, respecte les règles et cherche à faire plaisir à son référent. Avec les autres chiens il sait également très bien se gérer lorsqu’un cadre clair lui est posé par l’humain. Sans celui-ci il peut en revanche provoquer, notamment certains mâles entiers. Avec un référent cohérent et sûr de lui, ainsi qu’une bonne entente mutuelle, Rox est un chien plus facile qu’il n’y paraît. Les soins et médicaments restent un gros point de vigilance. Ils le stressent énormément et peuvent le faire trembler. Il faudra mettre en place un véritable travail de « medical training », toujours dans le positif, pour lui apprendre que les manipulations ne sont pas une menace. Rox a du caractère, c’est certain, mais derrière son petit numéro se cache un chien profondément attachant et désireux de bien faire. Avec la bonne personne il peut devenir un compagnon exceptionnel. Rox est un chien de 2ème catégorie mais ceci ne signifie en aucune manière qu’il est dangereux. * Pour le propriétaire, qui doit avoir : - un casier vierge et l'attestation d'aptitude pour chiens de 1ère et 2ème catégorie * Pour le chien (c'est fait) : - le test comportemental (niveau 2) et un passeport + vaccin contre la rage Rox devra être déclaré en mairie et avoir une assurance pour chiens de 2ème catégorie. Pour son adoption, nous demandons en plus un jardin très bien clôturé. Le futur adoptant doit être propriétaire de sa maison afin d'éviter les problèmes lors d'un déménagement. Rox a vécu plusieurs années sur un balcon dans une cité, il n'a pas connu grand-chose. C’est un chien qui s’attache énormément à une personne et qui ne calcule pas les autres membres de la famille. L’idéal serait une personne seule qui a de l’expérience avec les rotts. Les jeunes enfants sont à éviter. Depuis qu’il est au refuge, il s’est beaucoup attaché à une de nos éducatrices qui peut tout lui faire comme vous pouvez voir sur la vidéo. Il faudra un temps d’adaptation avec sa nouvelle famille. Il ne sera pas possible de venir le chercher et de partir avec.
