Roxine

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Gender: Female Age: Born around July 2023 (approximate estimated date) Size: Medium (22.5 kg) Date of arrival at the shelter: May 2024 Spayed: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Compatibility: OK with dogs, OK with cats Temperament: Sociable Update: April 2, 2026: Roxine is doing great, very cuddly—a lovely little dog. The only minor downside is that she’s dominant toward other dogs. She’ll play with them for hours, then suddenly start growling at them. 1) What can you tell us about her temperament? About her strengths? Roxine tends to be dominant, but all it takes is a gentle correction, and everything goes smoothly. She’s very playful, close to people, and loves cuddles. However, she’s quite gluttonous—almost greedy—and will steal food from tables and countertops. Sometimes she can be stubborn and refuse to obey until we raise our voice. 2. What kind of family profile would suit her best? (housing, environment, children, daily routine/outings) A sporty family who can give her plenty of exercise—she’s just waiting for that! 3. Do you think she’d need a family that already has another dog, or not necessarily? Not necessarily—and maybe not at all. 4. Does she get along well with other dogs (both males and females)? She gets along wonderfully with everyone here, both males and females. 5. Does she get along with cats? If you don’t have any cats, please let us know. She gets along great with all my 14 cats. 6. Is she house-trained? She’s house-trained in the sense that we take her out regularly; she doesn’t hold it in like some other dogs. 7. Can she walk on a leash? She walks on a leash, but gets distracted by anything—the slightest noise, a bird, a moving leaf... 8. Is there anything specific she’s afraid of (strangers, cars, loud noises, commotion, etc.)? No, as far as I know, she’s afraid of nothing. 9. Is she used to walking in the city? 10. Does she respond reliably to recall? No, not yet—precisely because she gets distracted; this is still something we need to work on. 11. Can she stay alone for a while without any issues (no barking, no destruction, no crying or anxiety)? No, she can stay alone; she’s never destroyed anything so far. 12. Does she have any specific health issues (illnesses or disabilities)? None. 13. Are her vaccinations up to date? 14. What’s her current weight? She weighs 22.5 kg. September 8, 2025: Roxine is doing great; she’s been promoted to pack leader—she’s the one calling the shots (there are 12 dogs in the pack!). January 11, 2025: She’s a very playful dog, extremely close to people—loves cuddles and affectionate petting, very athletic, playful, and delightful. November 24, 2024: Roxine has been moved to the “thin dogs” enclosure with unlimited food. June 24, 2024: Roxine is very sociable once she’s comfortable. She was shy when she first arrived (May 2024). History: Found wandering around Contact: Spayed: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Compatibility: OK with dogs, OK with cats Temperament: September 8, 2025: Roxine is doing great; she’s been promoted to pack leader—she’s the one calling the shots (there are 12 dogs in the pack!).

About Roxine

What life with Roxine looks like

Roxine is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roxine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roxine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roxine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roxine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roxine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roxine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roxine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
