Ruby

English Bulldog Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Ruby urgently needs a foster or forever home. She is a six year old French bulldog needing a calm, experienced home as she can be anxious of strangers. Once she bonds with you she is a super sweet little cuddle bug! She finds her current life in a busy city overwhelming and she just wants a quiet home where she can relax. She is reactive to other dogs although that could be worked on as she has previously lived with another dog in the past. But for now she needs to be the only dog. She has been around children but would be better suited to a calm, adult home. And she wouldn’t be suited to living with cats. She would be perfect for a single person or couple who want a companion to share their lives. She is vaccinated, chipped and speyed. She travels ok in the car and is ok to be left for a few hours but is used to there being someone around much of the day. Forever homes can be anywhere within the UK but you will need to travel to meet her in Warwickshire. Our adoption fee is Β£250.

About Ruby

What life with Ruby looks like

Ruby is an adult english bulldog dog waiting at JLP Trust Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ruby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ruby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. JLP Trust Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ruby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ruby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” JLP Trust Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ruby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ruby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with JLP Trust Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ruby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
