Rudi

Male · Young · 3 years

Rudi is a new dog in the group of 6 that we are just getting to know. He is a gentle and calm dog. He is not the type that immediately jumps up to people. He needs time to get used to and gain trust. Initially, he is shy and prefers to observe his surroundings from a distance. However, once he realizes that there is no danger, he starts to seek contact with people. He turns out to be a very nice, gentle and affectionate dog. He is curious, but also cautious. He can calmly adapt to a new situation and gradually becomes more open. He has no aggression, he just needs a patient person who will give him time and allow him to trust at his own pace. In relation to other dogs, he is interested in their presence, but he keeps his distance and avoids them. This is a dog that definitely does not need constant chaos, he will find his best match with someone calm who appreciates his subtle character. This is a dog that you don't get to know in five minutes. You need to give him a moment, and then he shows that there is a really nice, sweet and loving boy hiding behind his shyness. We are looking for a home for him that will not require him to be confident immediately, but will patiently show him how beautiful life can be by the side of a human. As we get to know him better, we will update the description. You can also find Rudi and the other dogs in group 6 on: Facebook - Instagram - TikTok

PL·Show original

Rudi to nowy psiak w grupie 6, którego dopiero poznajemy. To psiak o delikatnym i spokojnym usposobieniu.

About Rudi

What life with Rudi looks like

Rudi is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rudi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rudi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rudi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rudi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rudi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rudi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rudi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
