Rudi

Male · Adult · 6 years

Rudi is an extremely sensitive and delicate, low-to-the-ground puppy. He falls in love with you from the very first moment, because it's really impossible not to be charmed by his charm. He looks for someone all day long who could spare a little attention and calls to himself with a quiet whimper. Rudi quickly becomes attached and builds relationships with people. He allows himself to be petted right away and presents his belly for scratching. He walks perfectly on a leash and at the moment shows us as a completely problem-free dog. He is very interested in other puppies and on walks he really wants to approach them. It seems, however, that he has peaceful intentions towards them. He came to us very neglected, full of fleas and mats. Fortunately, he is a calm oasis and without any hesitation allows grooming procedures. Now he is a beautiful, soft, fluffy puppy ❤️ Rudi most likely has a dislocated lens in one eye. We didn't notice that it impairs his functioning (the puppy behaves completely normally), but it is possible that a specialist would recommend an operation after adoption (in shelter conditions it may not be advisable due to difficult post-operative care). We recommend a home visit during the adoption process.

PL·Show original

Rudi to niezwykle wrażliwy i delikatny, niskopodłogowy piesek. Rozkochuje w sobie już od pierwszej chwili, bo naprawdę nie sposób nie ulec jego urokowi. Całymi dniami wypatruje kogoś, kto mógłby poświęcić mu choć odrobinę uwagi i nawołuje do siebie cichutkim kwileniem.

About Rudi

What life with Rudi looks like

Rudi is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Possible lens dislocation in one eye - may need specialist evaluation and potential surgery after adoption

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rudi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rudi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rudi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rudi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rudi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rudi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rudi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
