Rumi1, a Podenca mix, is currently living in a shelter but is not intended to stay there permanently. We have been looking for a home or foster placement for her since mid-February 2026. The female dog is compatible with other dogs and could be placed with one or more dogs. She is still learning the basics of dog behavior and will need time to adjust to her new environment. Rumi1 has only recently arrived at the shelter and is observing everything from a safe distance. Once she has settled in and adjusted to her new surroundings, we will likely see more of her personality and be able to report on her progress. As a Podenca mix, Rumi1 is naturally equipped with a strong hunting instinct. Freelancing is usually only possible in a well-fenced garden or dog exercise area. A leash is essential during walks and hikes, although a long line can be a great alternative. When properly exercised, Podencos are usually calm, gentle, sensitive, and great family members. Unsere Rumi1 lebt momentan im Shelter, in dem sie aber nicht dauerhaft bleiben soll. Seit Mitte Februar 2026 suchen wir daher ein Zuhause oder eine Pflegestelle für sie. Mit anderen Hunden ist die Hündin verträglich und könnte somit zu einem oder mehreren Hunden vermittelt werden. Das Hundeeinmaleins wird ihr noch fremd sein, und gemeinsam mit Ihnen wird sie noch vieles lernen müssen. Rumi1 ist noch nicht lange im Shelter und beobachtet alles erst einmal aus sicherer Entfernung. Sobald sie sich mehr eingelebt und sich an die ganzen neuen Eindrücke gewöhnt hat, werden wir vermutlich mehr von ihrem Charakter sehen und berichten können. Als Podenca(-Mischling) ist Rumi1 naturgemäß mit viel Jagdtrieb ausgestattet. Ein Freilauf ist in der Regel nur in einem gut eingezäunten Garten / Hundefreilauffläche möglich. Bei Spaziergängen und Wanderungen ist eine Leine unverzichtbar, wobei die Schleppleine eine tolle Alternative sein kann. Bei richtiger Auslastung sind Podencos zuhause meist ruhige, sanfte, sensible und tolle Familienmitglieder. Bitte informieren Sie sich vor einer Bewerbung über die Bedürfnisse eines Podencos.
