Breed: Staffordshire Terrier Mix Gender: male Birthdate: 12/2016 Size: medium The 9-year-old male dog arrived as a found animal from Heilbronn on 01.06.2025 and has not been missed by anyone so far. We have since discovered that Rusty already had four previous owners and was not wanted by his last guardian. Despite his past, Rusty is friendly towards people. Once he has built trust, he seeks close contact with his trusted people and is highly attuned to them. He is said to be familiar with children and also to get along with other dogs, although he needs time to get to know new fellow animals in peace. On a walk, he initially pulls on the leash. Rusty has some health impairments. He has old cruciate ligament injuries in both knees as well as severe arthritis. A tumor was found on his left leg, which has not spread and was surgically removed in October 2025. Additionally, his meniscus is damaged at the right knee, so he receives pain medication. Rusty completed his behavioral assessment on 15.04.2026 and is now seeking his fifth and final home. We wish for him a quiet environment with experienced people who can still provide him with a beautiful time despite his health limitations.

Inzwischen haben wir herausgefunden, dass Rusty bereits vier Vorbesitzer hatte und bei seinem letzten Halter wohl nicht mehr gewollt war. Trotz seiner Vergangenheit begegnet Rusty Menschen gegenüber freundlich. Sobald er Vertrauen gefasst hat, sucht er engen Kontakt zu seinen Bezugspersonen und orientiert sich stark an ihnen. Er soll den Umgang mit Kindern kennen und auch mit anderen Hunden verträglich sein, allerdings braucht er Zeit, um neue Artgenossen in Ruhe kennenzulernen. Beim Spaziergang zieht er anfangs an der Leine. Rusty hat einige gesundheitliche Beeinträchtigungen. Er hat an beiden Knien alte Kreuzbandrisse sowie starke Athrose. An seinem linken Bein wurde ein Tumor festgestellt, der bislang nicht gestreut hat und im Oktober 2025 operativ entfernt wurde. Am rechten Knie ist zusätzlich der Meniskus geschädigt, weshalb er Schmerzmittel bekommt. Rusty hat am 15.04.2026 seinen Wesenstest abgelegt und sucht jetzt sein fünftes und letztes Zuhause. Für ihn wünschen wir uns ein ruhiges Umfeld bei erfahrenen Menschen, die ihm trotz seiner gesundheitlichen Einschränkungen noch eine schöne Zeit ermöglichen.
