Profile: Age: born around March 2026 Gender: female Spayed: no Character: very friendly, playfully puppy-like Size: still growing, expected to be small to medium-sized In shelter since: June 2026 Relatives: siblings Sofie, Sissi M, Kleine Muck & Bea S Hello, I’m Lia. 🤎 I kind of look like a little superhero—don’t you think? With my special facial markings, it almost looks as if I’m wearing a cool eye mask. As befits a true superhero, I’m ready for my next big adventure. Together with my four sisters, I was found without our mom. Now that I’m safe, my greatest mission is still ahead of me: I can’t wait to zoom off into my own forever home and win everyone’s heart there. I may not have any superpowers—but I promise you lots of love, joyful puppy play, fun cuddle sessions, and endless happy moments. All that’s missing now is my very own home. Would you let me be your little superhero? Intrigued? If you’re interested in Lia, please fill out our application form () or send us an email or a message via Facebook. Lia is ready to travel and can join the next transport to Germany. Our dogs travel legally with Traces—a database system used to monitor all animal movements within the EU. The dogs travel spayed or neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and they come with an EU pet passport. Additionally, dogs aged 12 months and older will undergo a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases before departure: Lyme disease (Borreliosis), Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariosis, and Leishmaniasis. Sponsorship Support: Elke T. has taken on Lia’s sponsorship and ensures that Lia always has a full bowl of food. Thank you so much on behalf of the dogs!

About Lia

What life with Lia looks like

Lia is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
