Adopt Rydal

Poodle · Female · Young · 2 years

Rydal is a very nervous but incredibly sweet girl who has come to us from a breeder. At the moment, she finds great comfort in the company of her kennel friends and is still unsure of us humans. However, she is slowly starting to come out of her shell and is becoming more curious each day. With gentle encouragement, Rydal is growing in confidence and is beginning to show glimpses of her lovely personality. She will now take treats from the hand and, when she feels comfortable, will even sneak a little nose into pockets in search of snacks, showing just how cheeky and endearing she can be. Although she isn’t quite ready to approach for a fuss yet, she is making steady progress at her own pace. She will need kind adopters who can offer her lots of patience and gentle encouragement as she continues to build trust and confidence around people and settles into her new life. Rydal will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can take her under their wing and help show her that the world isn’t so scary. She relies on her canine friends for reassurance and will truly benefit from having a friendly companion by her side. As Rydal has never lived in a home environment before, her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She doesn’t yet walk on a lead but she is learning to accept a harness. She will need continued guidance as she learns to be comfortable on a lead. Rydal will need an adult-only home with no visiting children to help her relax and feel safe in a calm and predictable environment. Beneath her nervous exterior is a truly gentle and sweet nature; she just needs someone willing to take a chance on her and show her the kindness and security she deserves. With patience, love, and continued reassurance, Rydal has every potential to blossom into a devoted and rewarding companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Rydal

What life with Rydal looks like

Rydal is a young adult poodle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rydal, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rydal?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rydal on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rydal if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rydal already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rydal isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rydal and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
