Saba

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 11 months

Saba is an older lady with a spirit of an explorer who deserves a home full of affection. She was born in 2015. This dog has had a lot of heart, energy, and a desire to live since we've known her, and although her body is slowly giving up, her eyes still have that same spark. Unfortunately, that spark is starting to fade in the box. No one has been looking for her. No one has asked. And yet, she still has so much to offer. What is Saba like? • She is calm but still curious about the world. • She enjoys walks, especially those at her own pace, on soft grass. • She walks on a leash and likes to be close to humans. • She can be very joyful, but she needs peace and stability. This is not a dog for running. This is a dog for shared moments, those quiet, simple, but important ones. For morning rituals, shared rest, peaceful walks. What about her health? Saba suffers from degenerative changes, unfortunately such situations happen to senior dogs. She has been diagnosed with: • severe hip dysplasia • degenerative changes in the sacrum • changes in the spinous processes L1-L2 • spondylosis Th12-13 The changes are progressing slowly, they can cause pain, but Saba is being treated and monitored. She takes Librel 30 mg once a month, which effectively alleviates the symptoms and allows her to enjoy movement. It is not a cheap medicine, but for us the most important thing is that it provides her with the comfort she deserves. Who is Saba for? For someone who understands that the true beauty of a dog is not youth and strength, but the calm and wisdom of an older companion. For someone who will give her a safe home, not expecting miracles, but closeness, daily care, and affection. Breed: Mix, German Shepherd type Weight: 24kg Leash: yes Attitude towards dogs: positive She has been spayed, dewormed, dewormed, vaccinated, chipped, registered in the Safe Animal database. Do porannych rytuałów, wspólnego odpoczynku, spokojnych przechadzek. Rasa : Mieszaniec w typ. Owczarka Niemieckiego Waga : 24kg Smycz : tak Stosunek do psów : pozytywny Została wysterylizowana, odpchlona, odrobaczona, zaszczepiona, zachipowana, zarejestrowana w bazie Safe Animal. Psiak przebywa w: Schronisko Funny Pets w Czartkach Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, woj. łódzkie 43 828 36 46 - ogólny

About Saba

What life with Saba looks like

Saba is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Saba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Saba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Saba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Saba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Saba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Saba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Saba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
