Adopt BUBBLES (ladakos)

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

For Bubbles (or Ladakos, as he is called by our Greek friends) since October 2024, "Frl. Katzenmami" from the MietzMietz-Katzenforum (www.mietzmietz.de) has taken on a permanent sponsorship. In early August 2024, our friends H. & I. found a wounded tomcat. He was missing skin on his chin, and his jaw was partially visible. He had already been neutered in a state program earlier and is called Ladakos by our Greeks. We found out this name only shortly after; we named him Bubbles right at the start, when we agreed to support the necessary treatment. On August 6, 2024, we brought Bubbles to our veterinarian in Athens, as there are better treatment options there for such severe injuries. He traveled with Kardoula, another cat that also needed treatment. The wound on his jaw needed stitches, but fortunately, his jaw was not dislocated or broken. Bubbles had to stay in Athens for a while but was finally able to leave the clinic on August 28, 2024, and return to Andros. Bubbles is now doing very well. He lives in a harbor town with a group of cats that is fed by a local resident who stays on Andros in the summer. In the other months, our friends H. & I. take care of this feeding station.

About BUBBLES (ladakos)

What life with BUBBLES (ladakos) looks like

BUBBLES (ladakos) is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Cats at Andros e.V. in Berlin.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting BUBBLES (ladakos), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BUBBLES (ladakos)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cats at Andros e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BUBBLES (ladakos) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BUBBLES (ladakos) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cats at Andros e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BUBBLES (ladakos) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BUBBLES (ladakos) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cats at Andros e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know BUBBLES (ladakos) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
