Adopt Sacha

Cane Corso · Female · Young · 1 year

Sacha is looking for a calm and quiet home with loving and active adopters who can take her on sniffy adventures in quieter walking areas away from traffic, who will take the time to help her settle in and give her all the love and attention she deserves. She is a friendly bean who could live with secondary school children who will play with her nicely and will give her space to rest when needed. Sacha could live with another calm and playful dog who will happily co-exist and engage in occasional play, this will be pending successful meets at the centre; although living with another dog is not a necessity, she would be happy with polite and friendly walking buddies. Sacha is a clever girl and already knows “sit”, “down” and “stay”, she could be enticed to engage in more training in short, sweet sessions as long as a tasty treat is on offer. She would like a home with a private or communal, secure garden for her to potter about in at her leisure. Sacha can be worried being left so is looking for someone home the majority of the time if she doesn’t have another dog to keep her company, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once she has had time to settle into her new home. Sacha will need to meet her adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted. Sadly, Sacha came into our care with her ears cropped and tail docked. Ear cropping is illegal in the UK, and we absolutely do not condone it. Tail docking is also illegal, except for essential medical reasons, or for certain breeds of working dogs, and we do not condone the procedure being carried out unnecessarily. Beautiful and gentle soul Sacha is a 1 and a half year old Corso who wants to be your shadow. She enjoys meeting new doggy pals and exploring on her walks. Playtime is the best! She will pounce on her toys and bounce around with them, she will get the zoomies if toys are thrown for her, she hasn’t learnt to bring them back though. She loves a fuss, she will wiggle over to you and lean in for back scratches, she will sit with you, watching the world pass by, the perfect companion. This super sweet girl is ready to find her new home.

About Sacha

What life with Sacha looks like

Sacha is a young adult cane corso dog waiting at Dogs Trust Canterbury in Chestfield.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sacha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sacha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Canterbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sacha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sacha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Canterbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sacha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sacha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Canterbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sacha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
