adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this dog now! Saiwa has found her luck! Her story: Saiwa has experienced the worst one can imagine – yet she chose to live. She was hung on a rope and left to die. That she survived is a miracle. Her name means "luck" in Japanese – and that is exactly what she had in the last moment. Since her rescue, Saiwa lives in the animal shelter Năsăud, where she has become a lively, affectionate female dog. She shares her run without problems with other dogs and shows herself to be social, friendly, and open. She meets people with curiosity and affection – sometimes stormily, because she enjoys every form of attention so much. Despite her past, Saiwa is full of trust. When she had to go for spaying, she behaved well on the leash – even going up stairs, which she probably had never done before. Her willingness to learn and openness are impressive and make clear: Saiwa is ready for a new chapter. We are looking for loving people who are ready to give her security, safety, and time. A home where she can finally arrive – as what she already is: a true fighter with a big heart. Even a foster home would be a valuable first step to happiness for her. Contact us – Saiwa is ready to trust anew and live her happiness. She is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has an EU-pass. Who will give Saiwa the home she so deserves? This dog will be rehomed together with the association Arme Hundeseelen Rumänien. The double posting on both association sides and possibly on advertising portals serves to increase his visibility and find the right home for him faster. With the association, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the dog is discussed directly and passed on. As of: 12.08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 12.08.2025

About Saiwa

What life with Saiwa looks like

Saiwa is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Saiwa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Saiwa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Saiwa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Saiwa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Saiwa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Saiwa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Saiwa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
